Celebrating the New Generation of Winemakers and the Richness of Canavese Wines”
IVREA – The third edition of ReWine, an event organized by the Young Winemakers of Canavese (Ivrea-Italy) concluded Sunday, bringing wine to the forefront through tastings, conferences, and masterclasses. This year, the event moved from the Balmetti of Borgofranco d’Ivrea to the Officine H in Ivrea, a venue that could accommodate thousands of attendees and breathe the innovative spirit of Olivetti.
Founded in 2020, the Young Winemakers of Canavese (Giovani vignaioli del Canavese) have been successful in promoting the viticultural excellence of the Canavese region, capturing the interest of national and international press. They have established a wine bank in the ancient cellars of Masino Castle and created an online catalogue for the sale of wines produced by associated companies.
The event kicked off with a press conference at Masino Castle, followed by a welcome speech by Confindustria Canavese at Officine H. The conference, titled “How the World of Wine is Changing: New Trends and New Generations”, featured prominent speakers from the wine industry.
The highlight of the event was the wine tasting session at Officine H, where over 200 labels from 50 producers were showcased. The wines were paired with local gastronomic delights, and attendees had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge through three masterclasses organized in collaboration with the Italian Sommelier Association.
The event was a success. The president of the Young Winemakers of Canavese, Gian Marco Viano, expressed his satisfaction, noting the event’s appeal to a young audience interested in quality wines. The event also marked the beginning of a collaboration with the reading festival La Grande Invasione and the Turin Off International Book Fair, further emphasizing the poetic nature of wine.
The historic Officine H was transformed into a wine salon for the day, with tasting tables, masterclasses, and three stands dedicated to Canavese’s gastronomic excellence. The event concluded with a performance by cabaret artist Dario Cassini, who added sketches related to the world of wine to his repertoire.
Despite the inclement weather, the event was a testament to the dedication and passion of the young winemakers of Canavese, who are committed to putting their region on the map for its viticultural, cultural, and tourist appeal.
