NOVARA – The historic Castello Visconteo Sforzesco in Novara is set to host the seventh edition of Taste Alto Piemonte, a prestigious wine event organized by the Consorzio Tutela Nebbioli Alto Piemonte. Scheduled from May 11th to 13th, 2024, this gathering promises to showcase the exceptional wines of Alto Piemonte through tasting tables and masterclasses.
Nestled between the majestic Alps and the picturesque Lago Maggiore, Alto Piemonte boasts a unique terroir, enriched by a distinctive microclimate and volcanic soils. This region enhances the expression of its native grape varieties, primarily Nebbiolo, alongside Vespolina, Croatina, and Uva Rara, encapsulating the essence of the region’s winemaking tradition and heritage.
Ten renowned appellations will be featured at Taste Alto Piemonte, including Boca DOC, Bramaterra DOC, Colline Novaresi DOC, Coste della Sesia DOC, Fara DOC, Gattinara DOCG, Ghemme DOCG, Lessona DOC, Sizzano DOC, and Valli Ossolane DOC. Over 50 producers will present their latest vintages, inviting press, industry professionals, and enthusiasts to experience the richness of Alto Piemonte’s wine culture.
The event will include five masterclasses, curated with the support of AIS Piemonte, focusing on the distinctiveness of the region’s denominations. Four sessions will delve into Alto Piemonte’s offerings, and one will feature a collaboration with the Giovani Vignaioli Canavesani, highlighting the unique characteristics of Canavese wines.

Detailed Event Activities:
- Saturday, May 11th: The event kicks off at 11:00 AM, initially reserved for industry professionals and press. From 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the tasting tables and masterclasses will be open to the public. Two masterclasses are scheduled at 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
- Sunday, May 12th: Open to all from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with masterclasses at 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
- Monday, May 13th: The event concludes with activities from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, featuring a masterclass at 2:00 PM.

In addition to the tasting experiences, attendees can purchase wine directly from a pop-up enoteca within the castle.
