FROM MARCH 31ST TO APRIL 3RD TASTINGS, MASTERCLASSES, TALKS, AND EVENTS FOR THE OFF-SITE WINE EXHIBITION
VERONA – Inaugurated in Verona, the off-site event that involves the entire city and celebrates the Italian wine soul. A real wave of wine passion is spreading from Vinitaly to Verona, ready to raise glasses for Vinitaly and the City in a toast throughout the city. The off-site exhibition dedicated to the public and enthusiasts from March 31st to April 3rd, with the four-day event coloring the historic Scaliger center in a mosaic of appointments between cultural, artistic, musical, and geographical influences, for a mix of tastings, masterclasses, talks, meetings, and guided tours, all in the name of Italian wine excellence. The headquarters in the capital of wine will be the triangle between Piazza dei Signori (Loggia di Fra Giocondo, Loggia Antica, Torre dei Lamberti), Cortile Mercato Vecchio, and Cortile del Tribunale, where most of the appointments and lounges for tastings will be concentrated.
Under the shadow of Dante, also the protagonist of the exhibition “Disposed to climb the stars – The Purgatory, canticle of forgiveness” curated by Franco Nembrini and presented on April 1st (from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm) in the Loggia di Fra Giocondo, lies the heart of Vinitaly and the City, the large Enoteca of Vivite – Alliance of Cooperatives, where it is possible to taste varieties from all over Italy before venturing into Mixology, in the Loggia Antica, with proposals from Bartenders Group Italia, Nespresso, Molinari, Italian Wine Brands, The Organics by Red Bull, Consorzio dell’Asti Spumante e del Moscato d’Asti Docg, Campari, and Acqua delle Stelle by Pernigo.
The Banca Passadore & C. Lounge – official partner of the event – illuminates the architectures of the Corte della Signoria degli Scaligeri, while the Consorzio Tutela Lugana Doc brings the toast bar to 84 meters, on the panoramic terrace of the Torre dei Lamberti. The made-in-Italy wine geography is redesigned in the Cortile Mercato Vecchio, hosting embassies from Lake Garda, with the Consortium for the Protection of Chiaretto and Bardolino, to the province of Treviso, with Consorzio Vini Asolo Montello, to the tip of the boot with the Calabria Region. Wine Talks of Vinitaly and the City, led by winemaker and wine writer Sissi Baratella, will also be held here, as a space for debate and discussion between the public and producers. The guide Vini d’Italia by Gambero Rosso and the Lazio Region competes in the Cortile del Tribunale in a series of snapshots from the wine panorama of the whole country, protagonists of tastings and tastings between award-winning wines and enogastronomic curiosities.
Among the most captivating novelties on the program is the launch of Vinitaly and the City’s wine guitar made of chestnut barrel wood by Fabrizio Paoletti, the luthier who has crafted guitars for stars such as Bruce Springsteen, Keith Richards, and Joe Walsh. Literary events are also on the schedule, in collaboration with the Feltrinelli bookstore in Verona, which on Sunday, April 2nd, will join the event’s lineup with two introductions on enogastronomic themes. Roberto Valbuzzi (son of an artist and chef of the Crotto Valtellina restaurant, as well as a well-known television personality) will discuss his book “Cook, Restaurateur, Farmer,” published by Gribaudo (at 3:00 pm), while Joe Bastianich will present the book “The Great Tale of Italian Wine,” written with Tiziano Gaia for Mondadori Electa (at 7:00 pm).
