Since 2000, the event has taken place every two years in Italy, Spain, Portugal (InfowineForum), and, as of 2021, it has also been held in the United States.

VICENZA – Enoforum, a one-of-a-kind conference, unites producers, technicians, oenologists, agronomists, researchers, and technology suppliers, fostering innovation and growth within the wine sector. The congress provides a comprehensive overview of the latest innovations in the vine and wine industry for its attendees. As the largest technical congress in Europe dedicated to the wine-growing and wine-making sectors, Enoforum welcomes both speakers and participants to its 18th edition, taking place in Vicenza, Italy from May 16th to 18th.

Over the course of the three-day event, participants have the opportunity to attend more than 100 lectures across two parallel-running halls, allowing them to choose topics of interest. To accommodate international attendees, all research presented by international lecturers will be simultaneously translated into Italian, ensuring that the latest oenological news from around the world is accessible to everyone.

For those who may not find certain presentations appealing, the conference offers a variety of alternatives, such as technical tastings and demonstration sessions. Enoforum organizers believe that “touching and feeling” some innovations can lead to a better understanding of their real benefits in the winemaking process. To facilitate this, the conference includes opportunities to taste wines produced with experimental technology, allowing participants to compare them with unprocessed wines.

Starting with this edition, the conference program also features demonstration sessions where attendees can engage with technology developers directly and gain a deeper understanding of the applications and potential of specific technologies.

Enoforum’s core belief is that innovation within the wine sector arises from the collaboration between public research, suppliers, and winemaking technicians and oenologists. Public research often generates ideas for new technologies, while suppliers’ R&D departments turn knowledge into large-scale innovations, and end-users such as technicians and oenologists provide valuable feedback and identify new demands.

The conference facilitates the interaction between these three entities, offering all participants the opportunity to contribute positively to the evolution of the industry. To foster networking and collaboration, Enoforum organizes multiple networking opportunities throughout the event, encouraging participation from all attendees.

“The success of Enoforum – says Gianni Trioli, founder of Vinidea and creator of Enoforum – lies in the fact that it represents a unique opportunity for technicians involved in innovation to acquire in a short space of time all the information they need to successfully transfer a new technology to their own production: the principles and the scientific basis of a new practice, the details on equipment or products that allow its application in the cellar or in the vineyard, the experience of colleagues, the elements for a preliminary cost/benefit analysis. All this can be found at Enoforum”.
