Third Edition of Premier Wine Event Set to Welcome Global Experts and Enthusiasts in Ivrea from the 20-21 of May
IVREA – In a year of acclaim for Canavese’s innovative wineries and exceptional wines, the Young Canavese Winemakers stand out, having enjoyed a triumphant Vinitaly event where Erbaluce was honored as Piedmont’s 2023 grape variety. Adding to the excitement is the upcoming third edition of Rewine, Canavese’s premier wine event. For the first time, the event will take place in Ivrea, following the initial two editions held in the charming Balmetti di Borgofranco.
This year’s Rewine will be hosted at Officine H on Via Monte Navale, located in the heart of the UNESCO-recognized Olivetti site. The event is scheduled for the weekend of May 20-21. The first day will bring together prominent experts from the wine industry, including producers from Roero, Alto Adige, Barolo, Collio, and Eataly Los Angeles. They will participate in a conference at 5:30 pm, discussing “The Changing Landscape of Wine: Emerging Trends and Generations.” Notable American wine importer Niel Rosenthal is expected to attend.
On Sunday, public tastings will take center stage, with tickets priced at €20. The first two Rewine editions drew an average of 1,000 visitors per day at Balmetti. This year’s event will feature 50 producers and 200 wine labels, encompassing the 24 Young Canavese Winemakers, Friends of GVC, other producers from Canavese and Roero, and “The Screwed,” a group of five bold, pioneering screw-cap wine producers.
Gualtiero Onore, GVC Secretary, emphasized on Saturday that “Canavese has the potential to produce outstanding wines and compete on the global stage. This was evident at Vinitaly. As a result, Rewine seeks to evolve into a more specialized event, attracting individuals from across the globe to explore and discuss wine in our region.”
