ALBA – The eighth edition of Grandi Langhe 2024 is set to showcase the exquisite wines of Langhe and Roero. Scheduled for Monday, January 29 and Tuesday, January 30, 2024, the event will take place at the OGR Torino, a venue that has become synonymous with the event’s growing prestige. This year, 300 wineries are ready to present their latest vintages of DOCG and DOC wines, reflecting the event’s ever-increasing representation and international presence.

Strengthening Ties with Turin and the Wider Region

The event continues to fortify its connection with the city of Turin and the Piedmont region. The choice of OGR Torino as the venue for the third consecutive year underscores this commitment, as well as the event’s national and international expansion.

A Gathering of Global Wine Professionals

Wine buyers, retailers, restaurateurs, and international importers are invited to register for the largest tasting dedicated to Langhe and Roero denominations. This year’s event boasts the participation of a record number of wineries, covering almost the entirety of the consortium’s associated businesses.

A New Collaboration: The Alta Langa Consortium

This edition of Grandi Langhe introduces a novel feature – a significant tasting presence from the Alta Langa Consortium. This move aims to extend a hand to other regions, representing the entire Piedmontese wine-growing area.

International Attention and Growth

Over 90 selected buyers from more than 30 countries, including the USA, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Japan, and India, will attend. In addition, a delegation of 20 buyers from China and Hong Kong will participate, following initiatives started in September 2023 with the BBWO2023 China project.

Organizers and Support

The event is organized by the Consorzio di Tutela Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe e Dogliani and the Consorzio di Tutela Roero, with support from the Regione Piemonte and backing from Intesa San Paolo. This year also sees a new technical partnership with Pulltex- DG selezione.

Enhancing Collaboration with Local Culinary Scene

Collaboration with the OGR Torino is deepening, especially with the Ex Officine Snodo’s food & drink area. Partners such as Coalvi- Consorzio di Tutela della Razza Piemontese and the Consorzio Tutela Nocciola Piemonte will be involved.

CHANGES: A Focus on Langhe’s Future

The event will commence with the third edition of CHANGES, addressing the theme ‘Langhe (not) for sale’. This includes a presentation of research conducted by the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, involving over 200 Langhe wineries to explore generational shifts and foreign investment interests in the region.

Statements from Consortium Presidents

Matteo Ascheri, President of the Consorzio di Tutela Barolo Barbaresco, emphasizes the event’s growth and increasing international focus, while Massimo Damonte, President of the Consorzio di Tutela Roero, highlights the strategic opportunity it presents for producers to network and build commercial relationships.
