PARIS – – In an impressive display of resilience and innovation, the 5th edition of Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris has transformed the prevailing economic hurdles into strategic opportunities, reinforcing its position as a crucial platform in the wine and spirits industry. This year’s event not only solidified its status as a key business hub but also emerged as a powerful influencer in the global business and political arenas.

The 2024 edition marked a pivotal moment for the industry, with the event making a significant sustainable economic impact. The number of exhibitors surged to 4,074, representing 48 producer countries, including a 53% increase in international exhibitors. This growth underscores the event’s expanding appeal and global reach. Visitor attendance also saw a notable rise of 14% from the previous year, with 41,253 attendees including 41% international visitors from 137 countries, showcasing the event’s extensive influence and appeal.

Vinexposium’s dedication to fostering business development was evident in the 30% increase in attendance by key market buyers. The top five countries represented, after France, were Italy, Belgium, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Germany. The event’s matchmaking service reached a new milestone with 10,146 appointments facilitated online between producers and buyers.

Under the high patronage of French President Emmanuel Macron, the event was graced by visits from three French ministers and 27 ambassadors, reflecting its stature as a venue of global influence. The opening ceremony featured speeches by Marc Fesneau, Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, and Thomas Cazenave, Minister of State for Public Accounts, emphasizing the event’s role in uniting the industry to address current challenges and envision a sustainable future.

The event was highlighted as a crucial exhibition for wine and spirits exports by Frank Riester, Minister of State for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, underscoring the sector’s importance to France’s export trade balance. The International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) lent its patronage to the ON! program’s scientific sessions, offering a valuable platform for industry professionals to engage and share insights.

The ON! and OFF programs generated considerable buzz, with the former offering 126 sessions for industry engagement and the latter featuring 200 participating restaurants and bars in Paris, facilitating business discussions in a more casual setting after hours. These programs were lauded by attendees for fostering dialogue and continuing business relationships in the vibrant city of Paris.

The Be Spirits section of the event also saw significant enhancements, with a 47% increase in floor space and nearly 200 exhibitors, 54% of whom were new, from 26 producer countries. This section drew global buyers and mixologists, offering debates and masterclasses to explore market trends and revolutionary products.

As the 2024 Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris concludes, it sets the stage for a series of international events leading up to the next edition in 2025, including Vinexpo Asia in Hong Kong, Vinexpo America in New York, Vinexpo India in Mumbai, and the World Bulk Wine Exhibition in Amsterdam. This series of events underscores the industry’s vibrant global network and its readiness to tackle future business challenges together.
